It seems good, but I'm concerned with the lack of defence or self-healing.

I'd lower Marksmanship a point or two and then raise Expertise. All the 10e skills will drop to 5 at 12 Expertise, the 5e skills will drop to 2 at 13 Expertise. You should really be running at least 12 with all your 10e skills. Not to mention that Expert's Dexterity raises Marksmanship by two just by itself, you don't necessarily need to hit 16 with points.
Edit: missed Expert Focus. As long as that's always up I guess you're fine, but just don't forget it doesn't affect your pet skills.
Second edit: missed that there's no Distracting Shot. Build autofails

Gee... a whole thread just to say you like the new Expert's Dexterity.
You have a very one-dimensional build with no defense, no healing, no interupt, no cripple. I suppose there are some monsters dumb enough to stand there and let you kill them.

For E management, I like Marksmans wager, it works well in areas where the enemies don't do a lot of blocking.

Because at the end of the day you have to kill stuff or all that versatility isn't worth squat. Seeing how a rangers DPS is down the toilet thanks to PvP spike paranoia its hardly suprising that everyone is trying to minimise that weakness as much as possible.
Its also somewhat gauling that the single most deadly weapon in the middle agesm the bow, gets such a crappy deal in GW.

I posted it in another thread and I'll post it again here...
For single target damage use this:
[read the wind][prepared shot][penetrating attack][sundering attack][sloth hunters shot][Asuran Scan][distracting shot][concussion shot]
Who needs IAS on a ranger when you have 1/2 second activation bow attacks and crazy PvE skills?

Definately put [[distracting shot] and [[savage shot] in there for Keen arrow and Screaming Shot.
[Sloth Hunter's Shot] + [Savage Shot] is a nice spike. If you want bleeding in there [[hunter's shot] is pretty good, and it has a nice activation time so you can make the spike:
[Sloth Hunter's Shot] > [Hunter's Shot] > [Savage Shot]. Thats usually coupled with [[Read the Wind] as you would do better spiking a moving target (not likely to be activating a skill + bleeding from Hunter's).
With high enough Expertise energy management is fine.

If you want insane damage, go with volley or barrage.

because of their versatility, rangers are one of the best classes imo, but with a decent DPS they are the best class...

but then, Expert's Focus (a prep) goes bye-bye, as does the OP's build itself

DOn't be fooled. The +2 Marksmanship sucks. using ED with bows sucks. Expert dexterity will be used on R/P and R/D bars, because near perma IAS on scythe and spear rangers is very deadly.

only good thing about R/D is the [e]Escape, which is gone if u use ED....perma IAS might be good, but not if u can't chase down ur opponents (especially PvP)
same with R/P...if ur using [e]pet attacks/pet IAS, then they're gone too once ED is put on the bar...

Looks alright, im sure not 'insane' dmg, prob like 35-40 dps or so, might be a starting point for an updated build though.
If you want insane dmg add in [asuran scan]

Chainmail armor, a shield, and throwing axes have to say otherwise to that statement imo.
DPS bow is a bad idea tbh especially with a pet. The no-defense and self-healing is fine but you should have a cripple/interrupt if you want a consistent stream of DPS(weak albeit).
